Measure Twice Cut Once
Provide all measurements to the nearest millimetre. If you’re measuring over carpet, apply firm pressure to get the maximum internal height — this helps account for the final wardrobe frame.
All supply-only wardrobe doors use our standard 85mm-wide track system, which requires a 90mm wall jamb. For narrower openings, a 55mm track is also available. Both top and bottom tracks are supplied over length, so you can trim them to your exact requirements during installation. Please note: the maximum door width is 1200mm, and the maximum door height is 2700mm.
Step 1: Measure Height
Measure the internal space in three places as indicated in the diagram – A, B, & C.

Step 2: Measure Width
Measure the internal space in three places as indicated in the diagram – D, E, & F.

Step 3: Measure Floor Plate
Measure the width of the existing timber floor plate (if you have one).
If you don’t have an existing timber floor plate, one will be provided with your order at no extra charge.
Step 4: Measure Wall Jamb
Measure the width of the existing timber wall jamb (if you have one).
If you don’t have an existing timber wall jamb, your DIY wardrobe will be supplied with an aluminium wall jamb.

Installation In 4 Easy Steps
How To Install Your Sliding Robe Door

Step 1: Measure & Mark
Measure the opening and mark where the top and bottom tracks will go. Use a spirit level to make sure everything is straight.
Step 2: Fit the Tracks
Cut the tracks to length using a drop saw, then screw them into place, bottom track first, then top.
Step 3: Insert the Doors
Lift each door into place by slotting the top into the upper track, then guiding the bottom rollers into the bottom track.
Step 4: Adjust & Check
Test the slide, check alignment, and make any height or wheel adjustments using the screws at the base of each door.

Do you offer a delivery service?
Unfortunately, no. Supply Only Robe Doors must be collected from our showroom at Caloundra West. A suitable vehicle to accommodate the doors is essential, i.e. taking into account the size of the doors and how they will fit in your tray or trailer.
Will my robe doors come packed and wrapped?
Hills Robes & Screens do not have the facilities to pack the robe doors ready for transport (plus this would add significantly to the cost). It is advised that you bring suitable items, e.g. blankets, doonas, large sheets or thick cardboard, etc. in order to ensure your robe doors are protected from scratches, dents, etc. while in transit.
Why is my wardrobe track longer than the supplied measurements?
We provide the tracks approximately 100mm longer than required so that you can trim them to the exact measurement of your door opening. You will ideally need a drop saw to cut the track cleanly.
What is the best way to secure the tracks?
When installing the robe doors, the bottom track is to be fitted firmly between the wall jambs. There is no need to screw the bottom track down as the firm fit and weight of the doors once in place, should ensure the track does not move. The top track will need to be screwed to secure it into place.
What happens if my floor is not level?
It may be necessary to adjust the wheels on the bottom of the doors to ensure the doors sit flush against the jamb when closed and don’t roll away. If your floors are out of level by more than 6mm, speak to our customer service team about whether this option is right for you.
